Thanks for all the suggestions... think I'm going with the single CRL attached via sliding prussicks. Also going to start with guylines at all attachments initially...may try the pole mod if the guylines become too cumbersome.

Are most of you sealing the side pull stitching before using?

I plan to use the pole mod because it may be a little heavier (someone told me about 4.55oz for the pair) but there will be less lines to tangle or run into and less fiddle-factor having to use my trekking poles.
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

I sealed mine but I did use the SF once in a heavy downpour prior to sealing it though. The moisture did permeate through the stitching but it was a negligible amount.

Sealed mine after my first major rainstorm - your head area will get wet in a downpour without sealing those pull outs.

On sealing your Superfly...what product do you use and is it just in certain sections of the tarp?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Disregard...sorry. I should have read further in the forums before asking. I found the answers in https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=78947.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Superfly arrived today... thanks Brandon for expediting! I have a trip planned next weekend - which gives me a whole week to seam seal, configure tie down system, and get the pole mod set up.

Almost hoping it rains next weekend to really test this tarp setup... something seems wrong about that....

I still haven't been in a great down pour in mine... I walked out after packing up in a helluva rain, but it was pretty while at camp...

I had planned on taking mine on a 3 day trip to dolly Sods but the weather was so perfect last week that I used my lighter Edge tarp.Last night I decided to set up in my yard in the dark in the midst of the noreaster we are having for practice.I found that using seperate lines with a stingerz at each end is quicker for me than a dutch hook and stingerz. I was concerned at first because it seemed to be weeping in a couple places at first(not from a seam)and I thought the sil was defective. After setup I wiped out the inside and had no problems the rest of the night so I am not sure what was going on.What a difference in blowing rain from the edge.I was high and dry all night.
