Do the long channels on a down underquilt have a problem with down migration? It seems to me that with up to a 6 foot long tube the down would shift and leave cold spots. I guess you could shake the quilt to even it out before hanging it ... just wondering. So my question is whether migration is an issue at all and if so what do you do about it?
Shouldn't be a problem. Actually allows you to shift or shake out the down to where you want it depending on temps and conditions.

Some migration happens with packing an unpacking etc. Typcally shaking the quilt evens it out.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
Never had a problem. And has been mentioned, the long baffles can be a benefit by allowing you to put more insulation where you want it.
My underquilts have full-length baffles. I always give them a good shaking, holding them by the edge, to fluff the down and even it out before I hang them. My top quilt has baffles that run around it, so I shake it from the end instead of the side.

you could make them run the length of the quilt to eliminate the issue like UGQ's....
Our new UQ design was targeted at down migration on long chambers. We reduced chamber width to a max of 4" on inner shell resulting in 11 chambers running head to foot. This effectively reduced down migration thorough chamber as well as minor settling that can occur on large chambers.
