    Question about Whoopie Hook

So if i get this right, for the Whoopie Hook to work, you need a Continuous loop of Amsteel, which must be tied to the hammock?
Most hammocks come with the 6' whoopie tied/sewn to hammock

Once you make the Square Knot in the fixed loop of the whoopie to the Web strap, you can leave it on the strap permanently and just connect the hook to the loop of the hammock, right?

That's one way to do it. The other is have the whoopie hook on the fixed eye of the sling and use a marlin spike hitch and toggle on the webbing to hold the adjustable end of the sling.

You are correct. Just like the picture.I use the Marlin spike hitch myself I find it a bit quicker to setup

I suppose you could put the hook on the fixed eye of the whoopie, or you could even put it on the continuous loop. However, I don't like the fact that the whoopie hook would always put stress on the same section of rope. At least when the whoopie hook is on the adjustable loop, it's never stressing the same section of rope.

I use mine like in the picture.

There are countless ways of using it. It is to connect amsteel to amsteel. There should be a continuous loop and a whoopie.
Here is an all in one you can make.
