I'm also about 5'6", but I find that my GTUL is still plenty comfy. However, I also want to try a larger hammock for comparison. Like most everyone else on this thread, the first thing I did was swap out the suspension. If budget is a concern, then you can use a suspension like mine, which is a couple steel rings from Home Depot and some polyester ratchet straps I had lying around that I never use. Just feed the straps through two rings on the end like a tension buckle and then secure it with a "safety knot" to keep it from slipping. Here is what my suspension looks like.

    - Nonsense. You only say that because no one ever has.

I have the UL in Forest Green and love mine...Have a camo one on the way.

Agree with the other posts that you will want to swap out the suspension right away.

For $18.95 delivered, ($30 for camo)...it delivers value far beyond its price point imo.

Campmore generally sells GTUL for 16.00 . I just bought two hammocks on ebay from china, 16.00 each shipping included. When compared to an ENO no difference in material or stitching. My daughter now has her Hennessy Expedition for sleeping, her brightly colored hammock for lounging.

I started out with a gtul and changed the suspension and added adjustable ridgeline to it. A little short for being 6', but far more comfortable than sleeping on the ground.

I have a SBP and changed out the suspension to whoopies. Can't beat it for the price. Not sure, if I want anything else right now either.

I have a SBPro and have also switched out the suspension with whoopies and tree straps.
I like it a lot. If I don't want to lay in it with netting, I will just turn it upside down with
the netting on the bottom. It is a great value, especially if your not sure if you will enjoy hammock camping. But beware...Once your bitten by the bug it is hard to stop with just one.

3 yrs ago,,got a SBPro,,and the wife3 claimed it right off the git go..and have had her try 6 or more gathered end hammocks and RR's and can't get her to buy another type of hammock period. I have to admit,,its a comfy hammock and I love the feel of the stretchy parachute material myself. She loves her SBPro.

I have the Double and I love it for a quick afternoon hang. It is my goto hammock in non camping situations. The suspension is crap...replaced with whoopie slings.
Swinging in the air with a flair.

    Opinions on Grand Trunk hammocks?

Thanks for all the great advice. I guess this decision is a no brainer
