    Tarp Tentoria

    Named after Indian tent turtle

Been thinking about this for long time. At last I got materials to make this from.
Basically, what it is, is a minimalistic tarp that's sides can be closed, so it should be capable for storm and winter use also. Length is 3.6 meters, cause I like longer hammocks.

It's made of 40 g/sqm silnylon and weighs little bit less than 500 grams (17.64 oz).
    So, here's lots of pictures:

Don't mind the ropes i've used, pictures are made of tarp that just got done. Let's call this a beta testing.
Hope You'll love it, because I do.
If everything goes as planned, i'm going to make them for selling also.

Very nice design and low total weight. Looks like a lot of room in the middle for gear.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

    Looks good!
Lots of curved seams on that!
You're using fabric instead of webbing for the loops where the ropes attach?

If you are thinking of selling these, using LineLocs for the rope/line attachments could be considered. (Like the Exped tarps...)

I'll probably go for dyneema if it comes to line attachments. I like the simplicity and lightness of whoopie slings, and these can be attached to same carabiners I use for hammock. At least that's how i've done things until now.
I'm still puzzled why I made it that long. Ridgeline of my hammock should be 3 meters, not 3.5 ... so, wasted lots of material for what? :P
Luckily, at moment I have just a right amount of material left for 3 meter version also

Yes, I used fabric instead of webbing for loops. Let's see if it's durable enough. fabric I used for inforcements and loops is 160g/sqm (about 5 oz/sqyd if i'm right) PU-coated nylon. Should be fine but probably will go for cordura in future.

would a warbonnet ridge runner fit underneath this and not rub if so I would be interesting in purchasing as well. (depending on price) maybe I could be your beta tester?

I like the concept. Length would work well for me with an 11 ft hammock.

Here's one thing i've been thinking about:
"Plan B," otherwise, if something doesn't add up You can always use this tarp as a tent also. So, here's plans for inner tent:

According to my estimates it should weight about 600 grams (21 oz). If on a longer trip and there's no trees it should be more or less OK.
