Hi guys,
Long time reader, first time poster.
These forums have been an awesome resource for me as I am very new to hammocking.
I have just finished making myself a single line/double ucr suspension system to replace the stock rope system on my HH Exp. I had to order a bunch of amsteel from the states as I couldn't find any reasonably priced equivalent here in Australia.
I'll try to attach a diagram of what I did but in case I can't figure out how I'll also try to explain my set up without being too confusing...
Starting at the centre, I have a piece of cord with an alpine butterfly knot set at each end 55" from the centre. Outside that on each end I have a UCR with an 11" bury ending in a fixed eye. The UCR has around 7' of tail. My tarp is connected to the suspension line via hooks and prussics on the outside of the UCR bury. Set up is quick and easy. I simply attach the suspension with tarp pre-attached to my tree straps via carabiners or soft shackles, then tension the ridge. I then attach my hammock to the alpine butterfly knots with soft shackles...
...hopefully that makes some sense.
Anyhoo, thanks to everyone for the ideas and advice, and happy hanging.[IMG][/IMG]
