Couple of weeks a go me and my buddies decided to do a "geezers" hike, but the Adirondacks were a bit far for our overnighter. Instead we hit the Shawangunk Ridge Trail, which parrallels the Long Path near Wurtsboro, NY. I had never heard of this trail until I saw it on the nynj trail conference website. The trail is a ridgetop trail (mostly), and the ridge is covered in scrub oak and blueberry bushes so there are some great views. At one view I could make out High Point, NJ and at another view we could make out Doubletop (I think) in the Catskills.
