    Ron,

    I also switched my son's scout from the standard rope suspension over to a straps and ring system (used the DIY info on HF!) and that is a really easy modification that makes hanging the hammock easier. Good luck & have fun w/ your kids!

    I did the scout thing for exact same reason. I'm 5'4" and found a great deal so I got it. I do the blue wally world pad but I wish a had the wider one. if you spend the money on a decent wider pad it will be worth it. it is a little tricky getting situated with the bottom entrance.
