    Indoor Hammock Question

For those of you that have replaced your bed with an indoor hammock, do you use an UQ with the set up? Just curious how this indoor thing works.

I'm very tempted to hang a nice big brazillian in the bedroom. Still tryin gto convince the wife....

Its going to get down to 43 tonite. And,,my wife is hot natured as all get out..so she will sleep in bed with a couple of fans on her and one of them will be in the window,,freezing my butt off as I am cold natured. But!! I hang in the living room and will have all the windows open, small fan in the window blowing cool air inside, with a 50 degree UQ under me, and a 40 TQ on top of me in a tee and shorts and will be just toast. Even when its 70,,the UQ is on loosely, sometimes I use a modified to fit 50 degree Jarbidge for my RR or a very nice 50 degree Breeze 3/4 UQ by Te-Wa..and both are easy to vent or tighten up. I use a 50 TQ or a 40 TQ both from UGQ, when like this low for tonite in the house. this morning the temp in the house was 53 inside when we got up. This works for me.

I don't full time hang, but I do take my weekend naps in the hammock in the basement and I needed something under me when I used just a blanket and not a sleeping bag. At first I just took a sheet and whipped it like a hammock and used that but then I got an under quilt for camping and that is my goto now it just makes it much more snuggly.

I always use a summer weight UQ in the house. Granted, it is colder in Canada than in Indiana, but even in the summer I use the UQ. I do not enjoy being cold when I'm trying to sleep because I just don't sleep. I don't mind the room being a bit cool, as long as I'm warm. I ordered a Jarbidge one season from Arrowhead Equipment solely for this purpose and it's awesome, not too warm but I'm not even a little bit cold.

Hey maddog! It was good to meet you at the hang I have a brazilion in my room and I use a poncho liner uq with a fan on me and a reg blanket on top. Like our Canadian friend I like to be warm in a cool room. Thinking tho that I'm gonna put my shamu on here shortly to give that a try.

I hang fulltime with a summer UQ. When it gets cooler, I use a hammock sock that pulls up from the foot end and reaches to my chin. This alleviates the need for a top quilt until full winter, when I set my thermostat to 55* at night. Then I add a top quilt inside the sock. My UQ suspension holds the sock off of me.

I use a 1/4" JRB 26X40 pad between the layers of my double-layered hammock even in the summer. If the power goes out and I run out of wood and kerosene, i might go with one of my UQ's.

I could never ever sleep without insulation. Not even if it's 100°F. I tried setting up a Brazilian at home, and I had an underquilt made, specifically for a hammock this big. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for me. But I guess I'm "special" I'm a super cold sleeper, and use full-length underquilts. I also need to pull them up pretty tight, as I tend to feel any air bubble under me. This is pretty bad if you want to go diagonal. I could never achieve a really flat lay in my Brazilian when using my full-length underquilt, because the UQ kept forcing me to go inline, or accept a banana shaped lay. I'm still trying to come up with a solution that would not entail selling the Brazilian. But for the time being, I use a WL Night Owl or a BIAS Lite Hiker when getting a chance to hang indoors.

Could a peapod be used open and adapted somehow to cover you on the diagonal in a Brazillian?
