    Question HH Explorer Delux Zip

Pardon the ignorance but, I do not know the lay of my hammock for a flat lay. I usually just crawl in & get comfortable. Does it have a designated head/foot.

Sitting in the hammock unzipped, does my head go left or right. Once down does my head go to the sown side or zippered side. I'm assuming there is a 180 lay that would be the same.

Owned hammock 6 months and had never thought about this until lately. Thanks for information in advance.

I lay head left, feet right with my head at the zipper.

Thanks. I wasn't for sure. I think I have been laying that way and 180 from that. I know I have been so comfortable that I never p aid attention.

    1. Get in.
    2. Get comfortable.

Looks like you have all bases covered.

After that the only issue is if you can reach the zipper to get out. I also lay with my head by the zipper so I can see out and for easy exit.

The bottom-entry hammocks are used with the head-left/feet-right lay, but for the side-zips, it doesn't matter. If you are comfortable, you are comfortable.

That said, I might go with having my face away from the zipper because I rarely stake the sides any more. The loose side zipper can be annoying if it is "in your face."

+1 on either way in a zip. My son is learning the fiddle factors of hanging his Exped and depending on which end is higher decides which way he lays. He's comfortable, sleeps great and is happy. Not gonna mess with success.

You can go either side in a bottom entry too. The real answer is whatever is comfortable is fine. Positions are just suggestions.

    Thanks for the replies.

All I knew was I was comfortable after getting in & settling into a good spot.

I had formed in my mind that a flat cloth with the ends cut on the same slant would make the hammock have a distinctive head & foot box that could be slept in also @ 180.

Could be I Just think to much since retirement.

This is also what I do and I can get a fairly flat lay that way.
