Spot2 Messenger shipped to CONUSA $55.

I have upgraded my Spot 2 (2nd generation) to the latest Spot 3Gen so this one is extra. Both units use the same receiver and transmitter.

If you are not familiar with the Spot 2 Messenger It costs $99/yr to register it ($49/yr more if you want real time tracking). I can provide more details of operation in email/PM's. Essentially, with a push of a button, you can send an email to people of your choice that includes your current lat/long and a link that brings them to a Google Earth type map showing your location. I use that to tell friends back home where I am and that I'm okay.

There are also two buttons for Help. One is still "unofficial"; I use that if I have to ask for help getting out but no one is injured. The other is full on SOS to Search and Rescue.

If there are any scout leaders out there, this is a great tool for you. We take this on our BSA backcountry treks. We send a link to the parents and ask them to book mark it so they can track our progress throughout the trek. This brings great peace of mind for the moms with sweaty palms wondering if their baby boys are ok.

Too bad you did not tell me you had a Spot 2 you wanted to sell, I would have purchased yours when I purchased your QC. I just purchased one for my neighbor kid and a Spot 3 for me.

I think they are inexpensive easy way to be tracked in case of a problem, or just for fun.
