I've used insulbrite with mine and taken it down into the low 30's and was on the cool side. So, I would agree with others that down around freezing the the lower end. I did use it with my military sleep system down to 15* and wouldn't quite recommend that, I slept but wasn't warm.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I was able to get a poncho liner from my local store.

I think I will give this a try a report back with my findings.

Glad to hear someone else have some feedback on this. I'm always guessing as to a theoretical "normal" sleeper's comfort range.

mumblez82 Have you had a chance to test out the system? I am wondering how it worked. Also, how wide was the Reflex you used? Did you put it between the hammock layers or something else?

I have a PLUQ which I used Warm Window product ( http://www.warmcompany.com/wwpage.html) to put between the layers. It is from the same company that makes the Insul-Bright product. I have used the two combined down to 30F and was warm. It should be noted that I also sleep warm.

With me was a down TQ (30F rated), dressed in fleece including hat, and wool socks. I also had a hot water bottle stuff in a sox with me.

It should be noted that the PLUQ with the Warm Window material is heavy, bulky and there is no way I would hike with it or even us it on my motorcycle camping trips. I will, however, use it when I am car camping and need an extra set up for someone who is not equipped for the temps.

I have used a 30 degree bag in my hammock
Down to 45 degrees. And sleped great. So it depends on
If you are a warm sleeper or not. And with any thing I would deffenetly test
    It out close to home.

I was thinking about using an MSS patrol bag as an underquilt . It would take some modifying for sure but better then a poncho liner I think . Not much heavier but better insulation IMHO and about the same price at 18 bucks

I recently utilized a poncho liner and reflectix, along with 30 degree sleeping bag at the Hosier Halloween Hang. The first night temp was 23 degrees and second night 27 degrees. The key is to have the UQ adjusted so there is no air pocket between the layers. In addition, I slept right on the reflectix. I'm not going to lie, it was cold but but I tolerated it.

I've been using reflectix with a 15 degree TQ all year and have been down to around 40 and been fine. But last night it hailed most of the night and I was cold most of the night. Didn't know how cold it was but I'm guessing around 32. I use the reflectix cause its lighter and way cheaper but all night I thought its time for a UQ. I'll pobably still use reflectix during the summer. There's my 2 cents

I am camping with the scouts this weekend and pushing my PLUQ to its limits. I will use my pad with extenders, coat under my feet, 40 deg bag inside my 0 deg bag. Its going to be 28 deg day and 14 deg at night. Wish me luck.
