Okay, so I am back from a second night of hanging. This time next to the river, just me and the fire. Everything went great again. I stayed warm, even with the cool breeze off the water. I do have one question though. Last night i woke up a couple times from some knee pain. I need to find a way to get a little bit of support under my knees. Is there a trick i can do to the hammock, or would just a simple pillow or sweat shirt under my knees be the best bet?

Most people will just wad up a sweatshirt, jacket, etc. for under their knees if they need it. And that is exactly what student loan money is for! Nothing wrong with eating ramen and mac&cheese until the next part of your loan
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

    Thanks for the great description!

liked hammocking outdoors so much, we replaced the bed at home, too. Can't be beat...though it's impossible to duplicate the outdoor ambiance completely...

I've been eyeing a stack of lumber I have beside my out building. It wouldn't take much for me to go out there and throw a stand together to bring in here in place of the bed.

Didn't know it, until we dragged a couple small net hammocks into the woods with us. First it was for a gear hammock, and a lounger. Then

A few short nights in one wasn't completely satisfactory......but it was enough to point out that I had never actually been comfortable on the ground. Sometimes you were just too tired, or it was too cold to notice, and you were just glad to be warm, but comfortable? No.
