    Test Hang

So we finally finished both tablecloth gathered end hammocks and got a chance to hang them in the back yard for a test, in between the rain storms that came through this weekend. The boy's is just about perfect. Mine is still needing some fine tuning. Still fiddling with the ridgeline and the whoopies. I think this is just going to be a work in progress. This was the inaugural hang for my rig so I'm sure it is normal to start working on the tweaks here and there. It was amazingly comfortable but it was a bit bathtubbish. I used the Just Jeff method and think I'm going to redo the ends and not pull the corners out and see if I can get a little more flop. Overall, I am extremely pleased and am very excited for our first real hammock camping experience this coming weekend. Best part was being able to work on these projects with little buddy. We did these with our own two hands.

The green was the "sage" from Tablecloth Factory. It was a little "louder" than it looked on the website but I like it. The boy wanted purple. He is a HUGE Marvel fan. He calls them our Hulk hammocks with the combination of the two colors.

I really like my TC hammock and plan to make many more! A very inexpensive and easy way to get a quality piece of equipment. Welcome to the addiction my friend!! P.S. That sage rocks!

I also ordered a 90'x156' in Sage. I thought initially about a back yard hanger for that one but I'm leaning more toward cutting it down to make a DL for mine to slide a pad in between the layers for insulation. I'll use the rest of the fabic for ridgeline organizers. If the DL idea works I'll get another Purple and do the same thing for the boy.

I was very pleased with the feel of the fabric and it was a very flat lay. I see this being the first of many hammock projects we're going to tackle together.

We have our first "out in the field" hang this weekend. We're camping with our Cub Scout Pack. As far as I know we're the only hangers in the pack. Maybe this weekend we'll plant a few seeds.
