    Tarp tensioners question.

    Hey guys viper here!

Well I have had this in my mind a long whole now but haven't gotten around to posting about it yet because I feel like I post to many times

But anyways... For my tarp tensioners I just take a 15inch piece of shock cord loop one end threw my tie out so now I have a doubble piece of chock cord about 7 and 1/2 inches long and then I simply use a square knot to tie my guy line out to my shock cord whit h is attached to the tarp it's self.

Is their something wrong with this method it's what I have been using a long while not haven't notices any issues with it but people make theirs attached to the guy line on both ends of he shock cord usely it seems like and I'm windering the difference? Because the way I do it just seems easier?

    Thanks guys

Lots of ways to skin that cat. You have CF now and don't need them

I place my adjustment, loop and prussic, for each tie out, where you place the loop of SC, if I've got you right.

I do it that way, so I can make adjustments if needed w/o coming out from under the tarp, in fowl weather. That's the only reason I can think of, off hand, and that's work aroundable.

Your way certainly reduces having to splice the SC through the Dynema. I kind of like that. The first time I tried that, it was on mason line and much too large diameter shock cord. Out of frustration, I just did w/o

Attaching a guyline to both ends of the shock cord loop with some slack in between the attachment points simply allows for a maximum stretch limit for the shock cord.
