What do you guys think of these as tree huggers?

A little overkill, but they should be lightweight for their size since this is the same stuff amsteel is made of, right?

A 4' simple polyester sling with 3" loop on each end is $3.52 from Strapworks.com. What the weight savings would be I have no clue but I'll carry a couple extra ounces for saving $10 a piece.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

At only 3/4" wide I would suspect that they would damage the tree. I would stick with the 4" polyester webbing.

wrong, those are rated to a very high strength, several thousand lbs. and will still be heavier than a good 1000# 1" polyester. it would be lighter than a nylon or poly of the same strength, but since this is for hanging, you can use weaker and lighter stuff.
should work though, maybe a little narrow, 1" is pretty standard.
It seems like overkill to me. You don't need your tree huggers to support 5000 lbs. a piece, unless you're record breaking fat.
