It also looks like you will have a couple of inches of snow for this weekend as well 2-4" is what they are calling for right now.

I am also bringing Chinette Paper Plates and some plastic knives, forks and spoons that we can pitch in my big trash bag when we're done.

Other than that, have at it. Needless to say........... BYOB (Bring your own beverage (of choice)).

Suede - No worries about Chili or pancakes, but........... a simple desert like brownies or cookies will always be a crowd pleaser, just sayin'.........

Also, a shout out to Jolly Green...... We're rooting for you man ! Hope you can make it, but if you can't no worries, we'll catch you in January.

Megan, glad to hear that you guys will be there around noon on Saturday. It will be fun meeting everyone in person. Looks like Saturday is turning out to be a real fine day.

Talox, thanks for the thought on the firewood. I think you're right in not transporting across state lines. This state gets persnickety about imported wood because of a particular beetle.

I think we're going to have a great time.

One final thing......... Thanks to Country Roads for starting this thread a while back. It kind of stimulated some local interest as well as introduced us to some of our Eastern Massachusetts Friends as well as our Connecticut and New York State friends.

It'll be great to meet everyone.

    All the best !

JOLLY IS A GO! I think it's all the good mojo that was generated on the last few pages... something about hammockforums is just magic, a few weeks ago my boss came up to me spontaneously and gave me Saturday off, clearing the calendar for tomorrow evening.

Boy, it sounds like we'll have a lot of food. I'll be bringing a bit of my world-famous turkey enchilada stew. I have just a small batch but a few folks can enjoy for lunch or with dinner, provided it re-hydrates properly. I may also bring a few things to cook over the fire in a cooler, just in case.

Maybe I won't need the cooler, though, considering it'll be SNOWING!

This is the only place in the world where people get even MORE psyched when the weather man announces a chance of snow for their hammock-based camping trip.

Jolly it will be great to see you again. I don't have a suspension system on your gear hammock yet...

Nighthauk, you should swing by the DAR if you get a chance tomorrow. Seems like most people will be there by early afternoon.

Cosmic and I are going to try and get there pretty early. I am going to be exhausted, but that's okay, I'll sleep well...

    Can't wait to see everyone!!

Thanks for the great news Suede. Jolly is a go ! Good deal.

At this point we are 8:

    Country Roads
    Cosmic Camper
    Jolly Green
    Talox
    Suede
    Sunshower
    mp3prozac
    SemperFiGuy (me)

I pre-baked 8 giant potatoes tonight for 2 hours @ 350. That way they won't take as long tomorrow when we put them in the fire.

I put some Montreal Steak Rub on the Ribeyes along with a a little Mesquite Rub for flavor. By the time we get to them tomorrow afternoon, they'll have been "curing" for 30+ hours.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Nighthauk, what Country said. If you get a chance, swing by and say hello for a little bit tomorrow. Bring LilPrincess and the boys with you if they'd like to tag along.

    See everyone tomorrow.

    All the best!

It's killing me to be missing out on this hang, dagnabit! Just got my HH Hex w/door mods, matching UQP & peak bag from 2QZQ yesterday. I'll be putting it all up tomorrow after I try sitting in the woods all day (again), waiting for the 10 pointer out in the back 40 behind me. Have a great time, all......Peace, Bob
