    silk??

    does anybody know if silk is downproof? maybe the 10mm? or whatever folks are making silk hammocks out of seems like a good weight, thinking of making a big comforter for home use.

    Both 8 & 10mm are "downproof" and IIRC Gardenville has used 4.5mm with no down leaking problems. For home use I'd use 10mm for durability.

    That said, if you use down with lots of pin feathers, you will likely find them
    (the pin feathers) working through the silk.

    great, i thought it was, but wanted to confirm. i'll probably opt for the heavier stuff anyway (not really even that heavy at all)
