Zeppelin Full Length UQ Hanging Confusion

Ok, I'm confused. There are two sets of clips per side on my UQ. One set of clips is connected to shock cord which travels the full length of the UQ. I understand what this is for and I hook it to an S-biner which hooks to the suspension line. The second set of clips is attached to shock cord which clips to small tie-outs on the end of the UQ. This second set of clips I've taken off the UQ and it seems to work fine. So, what is the purpose of this second set of clips?

Is it so that once you set it up, the UQ doesn't slide around? If so, I may put it back on.

You are correct, the second set of clips keeps the UQ from accordion-ing (is that a word?) down. In other words it keeps it fully stretched out, thats all.
    Good luck,

What he said.... Secondary suspension can be removed if not desired. It's purpose is to locate the under quilt along the primary suspension as well as prevent it from accordion-ing. If things are working fine with out it no problem. With heavier winter quilts the accordion-ing can get pronounced.

Yeah I am always staring at as if I saw it for the first time but somehow it always works out.

It could be useful to color separate these and to replace the plastic clips with sturdier hardware. A few times the fixed tieouts broke off when I laid in the hammock. I try to remember to attach them to something a little stretchy.
