Just my 2 cents here, but if it does rain, I don't expect it to be that heavy...that being said a light drizzle in the air = dampness which could make for discomfort I suppose. But I doubt any rain fall will result in major drenching. I have a good feeling about this weekend, betting on minimal weather.

I don't put much faith in weather predictions either, but just FYI, accuweather is calling for a quarter inch of ice Friday night.

I'm still on the fence, but won't be showing up Thursday. Friday maybe. It will be a last minute decision.

Ooooh baby! That ice sounds kinda exciting actually.

    NWS seems to agree: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...3.814697265625

Freezing rain 100%...BOOM! I'm probably thinking the same as 3club...we'll see

I've seen many things in life that looked exciting, but common sense and good parental advice have saved me so far.

    LOL, can't argue with that!

This forecast is truly INSANE. 4 types of precip and hovering around the freezing mark...anything can happen! I never had such a hard time selecting my gear. I'm trying to lighten up, but I think I'll still stick with some warmer clothing and bag just to be safe. I usually find a misty 35° and 95% humidity much colder than a dry 20°.

Like TZ said, just pack everything in the car. There's really no reason not to bring ALL your gear. That's my plan. Bring extra day clothes, extra whiskey, beer, the important stuff.

Except I think I'll leave the solar panels at home.

Actually I have an ice boat out in the barn but it would be more fun to improvise . Plus it is a tad heavy .

Curran: Currently -10, tomorrow high +33, that's a 43 degree change in one day! You'll be able to watch the thermometer rise.

Today: Sunny through mid morning, then becoming mostly cloudy, with a high near 17. Wind chill values as low as -10. Light west wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Tonight: A chance of flurries and freezing drizzle after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11. Wind chill values as low as zero. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Occasional flurries, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle, becoming all flurries after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 33. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Flurries and freezing rain before 1am, then rain or freezing rain between 1am and 4am, then rain after 4am. Low around 30. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Saturday: Rain likely before 1pm, then a chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 41. South wind around 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34.

So I guess we're all in! I'm packing up the car, will head half way there today (Bay City), and then see all'y'all tomorrow!

    SAFE TRAVELS!
