I love that trail…never have done it in snow. May go Middle Trail to Manitou River up to Cascades the Humpback Trail to Parking. Snowshoes a must I would think. Trail may or may not be broken the whole way.

are we going back to the exact same spot? seems like we put a serious dent in the nearby available firewood last year.would it be prudent to move camp a bit and git into some new firewood?

Sounds like that is the plan so far. We could disperse to another locale near but it may take a reconnoiter.
I hope to get up there pre-hang for a looky-see but not sure if it will happen. It'll be a last minute thing if I do.
We may just have to venture further for wood runs.
Look forward to sharing some time with you.

5lbs of down ships to me on Monday! As long as it gets here by early new year, my quilts will be finished and tested, so I should be coming. Time to go find some bags of bite sized Coffeecrisp!

If we check just the other side of the snow mobile trail, turn rt rather than lt, that might be a spot also, but not sure on wind. It is just a bit higher.

One good thing about having more people, that means more hands to gather wood
