Getting to -40º was awesome….yes, I typed awesome. We did not know it would get that low but were prepared for -34º.

Lost a few pounds of water weight. Nothing critical, and a slight headache was a good warning sign.
I will be working on some cozies for water bottles here shortly.

    Woooooooohooooo Winter!
That's just awesome guys! I'm glad you both had a really fun time and made it out with a great story to tell. Looking forward to the trip report.

    Woooooooohooooo Winter!

I love the frost on the wool, perfect balance, pushing the moisture to the outside

Did you say COZIE made them last week, cut off wool socks, and stitched the leg portions together, and a double layer reflextix. The neoprene are just can cozies

Thanks for the idea!!! That is sooo much cheaper than buying the $40 neoprene ones from REI.

Yeah, the wool gear works terrific in these conditions. it was only -15ish in that pic. we had some frosty times out there!

Cool cozies TZ, you know what you're doing.
Boogsy and I will be doing some reflectix origami this evening.

Side note, be very careful with metal utensils or bottles everyone.
I like the stainless bottles for winter too. great for heating in a fire etc.

I made a small lip skin donation to my Ti Spork during breakfast at about -25 though.

    Careful out there folks

I switched to straps for this trip.
But I have had my whoopies to -20º with no problem.
