    MN - St Cloud - 02.07.14-02.09.14

My buddy GrendelPrime and I are planning to do some camping in the St Cloud area on Friday night through Sunday starting 02.07.14. We've talked about the possibility of staying down by the river in the river bluffs area.

Here is a general area we were thinking of staying in:

Let me know if you're interested in coming along and we can work out the details. Other possible sites we would be interested in are Warner Lake County Park or Lake Maria State Park.

This sounds like fun and practically right in my backyard! Let me check with my boss (wife) and see if we have anything planned.

could possibly go.... the map is not much help. Where exactly are you thinking? there are a couple state forests around the area too.

Sorry about the map. I had a screen shot with an arrow but it looks like we can only link pictures here, not embed our own. We were thinking of camping at the bottom of the hill on the west bank, directly east of Travelodge. Or if you look at the map and see the group of three islands directly east of Holiday Inn Express, we could stay on the westernmost one.

We'd be game for state parks, too. When we went to Rum River State Park last year we had a good time. We were thinking we'd stay a little closer to St Cloud this trip. What did you have in mind?

if we (My son and I) are able to make it, it would be our first hang and we really need to get our winter gear setup.

I don't know. We found camp sites, and there are no private property signs. Good enough for me!

You should come. If you'd rather, we could go to Lake Maria where there is a warming house open all night. We would have to pay if we went there though.

I wasn't referring to state parks... state forests are different. I don't like the idea of not knowing if we're legally camping or not.... and I don't care for the idea that we're so close to civilization..... but I'm likely not going :P

The best things happen at the worse possible time.

It(I) might not be the prettiest thing, however It(I'm) is quite functional.

SON: Dad why do I have to make my bed? It is just going to get messed up again.
DAD: Why do you wipe your bottom.
