The proper way to hook up UQ to BB

I've watched a bunch of videos and looked at a lot of setups, including the Dutch quilt hooks. I'd like to know how you Blackbird owners hook up your under quilts and keep it tight up against the bottom of the hammock. I've hooked it up to the suspension, and it hangs pretty nice, but I would really like it to be a little closer to m'body.

Thanks for any insight on how to do this properly. My UQ is a Hammock Gear 40 degree with shock cord at the four corners and a couple of small d-rings along the sides. My BB is not a XLC...

I use a Phoenix UQ and also use a full length Zepplin on my BB. After I hang it and have it adjusted to where I want it to stay, I use the shock cord end that adjusts the gathering in each end and tie it off to my suspension. That keeps the UQ from sliding down the suspension and bunching up, creating a gap.

A quick and dirty way is to use an overhand knot making a 3-4" loop in the main shockcord which making it tighter. When I had 10' and 11' hammocks I did this with all my UQ's .

Feel like I learned some stuff today, which is nice. I'll be trying out the setup again Wednesday night, and we're shooting for 24 that night according to the Weather Beavers. Fun!

This somewhat pertains to the thread. I tested out my new wilderness logics UQ on my wbbb and I had to tighten the ends as tight as they could to not have a gap. Is this normal

When you say "as tight as it can go" do you mean there is no more stretch in the shock cord?
Where is this gap you are talking about?

That should not be required. More info please. Have any picts?

The 40° Incubator was my first UQ. I simply put it on my WBBB and pull about 6" of shockcord thru the locks (old suspension). Get in and feel under your back and butt, check for gaps. Adjust accordingly.

I really don't think you need any kind of extra rigging to make it work.

Yep, agree. After watching Shug's video, the part I was missing was how tight up against the hammock it needs to be. Mine was set up kinda saggy. Now it's tight against m'keyster. Dig it.
