That's odd? Maybe your feet were too warm or the closed cell pad was blocking and collecting the water vapor. Kind of like a VB layer under you feet.
My feet never felt to warm to the point where they were sweaty. I didn't consider that possibility though.

I will probably go to a full length eventually. Sometimes the pad under my legs would get a bit uncomfortable because of the stiffness, but it was very bearable and didn't bother me too much.

I did have condensation issues every night though. Usually around the footbox. It was a bit frustrating sometimes
I used to get that then started putting my Thermarest Sit-Pad in the foot box of my TQ and no more condensation. Worth a try….

When the temps get low and I'm ready for a nice worry-free warm sleep, I know where the extra 6oz in weight and extra $50 are going with the full length

Interesting, I'll have to give that a shot. Do your thighs ever get cold? The pad I was using extended from the end of my UQ to my feet so that wouldn't happen.

My thighs don't. But you could trim your pad or just stuff it in the TQ so you still get your coverage under your thighs.

Can I ask your height? At 5'10"/135lbs I'm not exactly tall but I find my FL UQ is not long enough to provide adequate coverage for my feet when the temperatures drop. I find a foot pad is still necessary when temps drop below the 40s.

I'm just shy of 6' and about 190 lb. My UQ is 77" long, and with my feet in the footbox of the top quilt I find the UQ provides enough coverage for my feet. In cooler weather I add a pair of loose fleece socks, and in really cold weather I may swap our the fleece socks for down or synthetic booties. I've even gone to bed with cold/frozen feet on a couple of occasions, and had them warm nicely once in the hammock.

Ahah. My UQ is 66", so that explains the difference.
