Any short people use a 3/4 in place of a full length?

My GF is 5'3 and I want to get her a UQ, but I was thinking she might be able to use a 3/4 instead without the need to put a pad underneath her feet.

Any vertically challenged folks do this?

I was thinking the same thing. I'm 5'6" and could probably get away with a 3/4 length. Maybe some of the shorter experienced members could weigh in on this.

Im 5'6" and my tewa uq ends a couple inches above my ankles, my AHE jarbridge uq is pretty much a full length for me. So yea it could work.

    I'm way short - 5'...sigh!

I don't normally sleep with my toes pointed up, rather they actually increase my length when I'm laying down. Also, sometimes my feet are the coldest part of me when sleeping.

I chose to make a full length (well full length for me...). Because I use a bridge it was just easier to make the UQ the same length as my custom length hammock. Maybe it's different in a gathered end.

The extra couple of ounces is worth it to me. I don't think you'd save any weight with a shorter quilt and an underpad.

I Use a Jarbridge 3/4 for my 11 year old. He is around 4' 6" and it works great for him. Look at the specs on the specific UQ you are considering for her. The Jarbridge 3/4 length is 58" long. My boy is 54" tall so this will only work for another year or so maybe withouth a foot pad.

My wife (5'1") uses a winter yeti 3/4. She sleeps on her side and some what fetal position and has full coverage. She gets cold easy so the winter works perfectly for 3 season. Something to consider.

As well most of us, not all, but most of us can customize lengths to fit. We have made several longer Jarbidges.

    Customize!

As Paul said, the good folks over at Arrowhead as well as here at Hammock Gear we can make a quilt to fit just about any dimension. We often get people who fall just a bit outside of our standard dimensions. Getting a fitted quilt made just for you is just an email/phone call away. There is no upcharge for the custom work. Just material costs.

I am 5 feet and use a 3-season, 3/4 Phoenix UQ. I do still use a small pad in the footbox of my top quilt when the temps go to the low 50's, because the 3/4 quilt covers most everything except my feet and just above my ankles. If I do get cold, I just curl up in the middle of the hammock and warm up.
