    Cure for pad slippage!

If you use pads in a double layer hammock and are looking for a free & easy way to secure them, then check this out:

    View from above:

I just tied up a small piece of foam, locking the double layers securely together, which holds the pads wherever you want! Holds up well under tension, works perfectly.

In the photo below, look carefully and see the ridge rest pad held in place by the "button".

Interesting idea. I've used small strips of no-slip rug pad with good success, though it's not as light as your idea.

    "T" configuration

Two JRB torso pads in "T" configuration, view from underneath:

Three buttons hold the two pads very securely in place. When lying in the hammock, buttons are swallowed by folds in the fabric and cannot be felt.

How about some dots, or lines of 100% silicone calking on the pad,,it will keep it from slipping when your weight is on it. Just a idea as we used to do this in tents (sorry about the foul word) to keep pads from slipping on inclines when pitched.

I already tried silicone with a ridge rest, but it did not help at all. Best thing I previously found was evazote pads to minimize slippage. Inflatable pads were the worst, even with factory anti-slip (like rei core 1.5), very hard to keep under your feet.

I'm embarrassed to say that the first word that came to my mind upon hearing about pad slippage was "wings".

I believe Cascade Designs used to sell a tacky adhesive to put on Thermarest pads to keep sleeping bags from sliding off the pad. One could probably use the adhesive that ball players use.

A SPE keeps a pad inserted into its sleeve from slipping around in a hammock in addition to providing extra width coverage.

I used a cheap, Target or Walmart, thin rubbery surfaced Yoga mat, under my thermarest, last night and had zero slippage.

Where's the box because you were definitely thinking outside of it when you came up with this...
