take your cord, fold it in half, then wrap your prusik. Now, tie the ends together on the tie out. No need for extra hardware...

The biners don't look be that much added weight, but I'm not sure what purpose they serve. What's wrong with just tarp to prusik? What does the biner add?

For me, it's much easier to put up the ridgeline first and get it properly tensioned, then throw the tarp over and clip it into the Prussiks which stay on the ridgeline.

I don't want my tarp 'permanently' attached to the ridgeline - knots in Zing-It don't untie for me, and I can't be bothered messing with button knots aka soft shackles.

Lots of ways of doing this stuff.

Jeff- What are you using for your CRL? I never had much luck getting 550 paracord to grab on the slippery stuff I use for my tarp ridgeline.

I switched to a Klemheist knot from the Prussik to get more grab, using ZingIt loop and Amsteel CRL.

I think the idea is that you don't use a 'Prussik Loop' of cord at the beginning. Start with a length of cord, and double girth-hitch it to your CRL (making the Prussik knot). Then, pass one of the ends of your cord through the webbing loop on the tarp ridgeline end, and join to the other end of the cord to finish the 'Prussik Loop'.

However, you can do what Fallkniven suggests if you are a non-splicer. Just take a length of cord and wrap it three times around the ridgeline forming a prusik, like so:

You'll have two ends of the cord dangling (No knot tied yet to complete the loop) and all you have to do is tie it to your tarp ridgeline tie-out using an overhand knot (or whatever tickles your fancy). Voila! You have a prusik that allows you to slide the tarp on the continuous ridgeline and center it.

Oh so I should actually pass my CRL threw my tie outs on my tarp and then attach the webbing to a prussic that's already attatched to the CRL?
