I hang a rope in between the 2 trees next to my hammock. It is underneath the tarp and off the ground. Everything is hung off of that.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

mine's in the hammock under my feet!!! Or if the weather is real nice, I hang it off of the foot end rope that goes to the tree. It's never never never left on the ground, I've seen the mice that come out at night!!! Haven't seen a skunk, yet!!!

I put mine on the ground with all the pockets open to my right side under the tarp. All my food is out of it and the pockets are open so nothing has to chew it's way out. Sometimes I'll still hang it from a tree next to my hammock with my rain cover and/or rain jacket over it.

i clip the top of the pack with a cheap carabiner at the foot end of hammock line and snap the hip belts around hammock. not much weight left in it if food bag is hung.

Leaving the pockets open is a good thing to do no matter where it is. Mine is often where ever I dumped it last.

I want my stuff sealed up, rolled up, hung up and away from all the creepy crawlys!!! One of my first camping trips (with a ....... tent) I'd vented it from the top because of...it was raining and hot and condesation was running amok... and when I awoke the next morning, opened my eyes and sitting not 3 inches in front of my face... on my pillow!!!...... was the biggest, blackest, hairest (yes they're hairy!!) wolf spider I'd ever seen!!! So now, all my gear is stowed away. my crocs will be shook out before my feet go into them. My backpack is hung... sealed up tight with nothing in it. Food bag is hung some place way over there away from me. and my hammock will have the netting sealed up, I don't care how hot it is!!! That spider just about did me in!!!!

No rhyme or reason. Sometimes it's hanging from my suspension under the tarp. Sometimes it's clipped to the biner going around the tree wrapped in my pack cover. Sometimes it's under the hammock on the ground. I guess it just depends on the situation and my mood. Pockets are always open; saw too many packs chewed thru last year.
