    I know when had knee surgery, they wanted me to keep my leg(s) elevated. I think it is good as long as the rest of your body is not (ie body inclined sloping down towards head)

    That was so clots couldn't form. I shattered my thigh in a motorcycle accident and needed to have my right leg up higher than my stomach, and had to have an injection of blood thinner. Mainly your feet being higher is to help promote better circulation, how ever, too high and you're promoting an aneurysm.

    You're still suffering today because during the night your blood vessels in your head swelled and it's going to take some time for them to return to normal. I'd take a couple of aspirin (if you can) to help thin the blood out a little and let your head recover.
