JRB Rocky Mtn Sniveller as UQ?

I've searched and searched but found no definitive answers, so I'm posting here. I've got a JRB Rcky Mtn Sniv, 48" wide, that I would like to use as an UQ. I don't have my hammock yet, so I can't give it a go. Anyone see any reason why a narrow topquilt couldn't be used as an UQ?

I have the Stealth, and I believe the entire Sniv line is set up to be used as either TQ or UQ, as well as being wearable.

    Great gear!

It will work fine as a UQ... You will need the Under quilt suspnsion system, comes with instructions... http://www.jacksrbetter.com/shop/und...ension-system/

    hmm

Excellent to hear. Now, my model is the long version, 86" I believe. I'm thinking of cutting it into two 43" half UQ's. One for me, and one for the girlfriend. The Sniveller already has the opening for the head, and I was thinking of just working from there. Any advice on splitting the pad? Should I sew it first and then cut?
