    TableClothFactory Crinkle or...

    Hey guys,
I've made a few DIY hammocks with the crinkle taffeta from TableClothFactory and it's great. But I'm looking into possibly getting some custom single color print on the hammocks for a couple of friends. I dont think this is possible with the crinkle material or I was looking into ordering some of there 100% polyester tableclothes of the same size. Is there anything wrong with making hammocks out of their 100% polyester tableclothes? Linked below.

Are they not as comfortable? Can they hold the same amount of weight? I heard they might be heavier? If anybody could share any experience or info they have of these 100% polyester tableclothes that would be a huge help. Thanks!

Also, just found they have the same sizes but in Satin.

If anybody has any info/experience for or against the satin tableclothes as opposed to polyester or the crinkle that would be a big help. Thanks again!

The 100% polyester in your first link is over 4 oz/sy with so little stretch, several of us have found it to be much less comfortable than the crinkle taffeta. To be fair, I do remember at least one person reported liking it.

I have not seen any reports of anyone trying the Satin tablecloths. They don't say what it is made of, but it's probably nylon or polyester. It is listed as 135gsm which is about 4 oz/sy.

Right on! thanks for the info! 4 oz/sy seems roughly about the same weight as the crinkle taffeta if im not mistaken right?
I dont imagine any reason why the satin might not be able to with stand the pressures of being a hammock, so it might be worth a shot.

Is the crinkle taffeta a nylon or polyester crinkle taffeta? It didnt say on their site what it was. I just received my two (2) 90"-156" tableclothes yesterday. One black and the other navy blue.

From tableclothsfactory.com, I thought it was polyester, but like you, I couldn't find it on the site now. I asked using "Live Chat" and they confirmed the crinkle taffeta is polyester.

Does anybody have any idea how strong or what the weight limit would be on the crinkle taffeta table cloth material? can it hold a big guy?
