What: Palmetto State Hangers Frozen Butt Hang 2014
When: Jan. 23-26, 2014
Where: Sesquicentennial State Park, Columbia, SC
Cost: $5/person ~ pay at camp (free for PSH donating members)
Gate Code: 4212
Site: Primitive #3 (The site has water.)
Parking Pass: At the gate, tell the attendant you are camping on Primitive Site #3 with the Palmetto State Hangers and they will give you a free pass. If gate is unmanned, get a pass from the main office.
*Directions to site* Go to the main office parking lot and drive to the far right corner of the lot. Drive through the fence opening beside the "Do Not Enter" sign...enter anyway. The dirt drive will go behind the main office and take you to the campsite (only about 100 yds behind the office.) After unloading your gear, return your vehicle to the main parking lot. (We may be able to remain parked at the site, but plan that we may need to park in the lot.)
If you can bring firewood (from inside SC), please do so. There is a large firepit area and with the cold weather, we will want to keep a fire going. We do have a local source for buying firewood delivered to the site.
Saturday night, we will plan to eat at Little Pigs BBQ for those who wish to go. It is an AYCE buffet with 3 kinds of BBQ, fried chicken, fish, pork chops, several other meats, an array of side dishes and the Chocolate Delight is not to be missed. Cost is about $11 including drink.
January night temps are typically in the upper 20's to lower 30's. The site has plenty of trees and we hope you will come join us for some cold weather hanging!
