    What's up, ya'll?

Just got a brand new NX-250 in camo with the vertex fly. That thing is sweet!!!!! Got no trees here at the house where I can hang it, so I took it to the park and set it up. Way more comfortable than my Byer moskito hammock! And the tarp is huge, plus the tabs on the ridgeline have a shape made to fit perfectly over the end of a trekking pole. It also sets up on the ground if needed.

Replaced the ropes with Eno Atlas straps and lightweight open gate Black Diamond carabiners. This was at a weight penalty (about an extra lb.) but makes setting up a breeze. Getting ready to go into the Gifford Pinchot forest and will be using my Thermarest Trailpro with an R value of 4.8 (L, 77"x25" model) which is also heavy at 2 lbs., 12 oz. But it has proven very comfortable for me and at 210 lbs., 6' tall, I can roll over on my side with out my shoulder going numb and have never had a problem falling off of it. I'm thinking it will work well partially inflated in the Clark but haven't had a chance to test it yet (didn't think to bring it the first trip to the park.) I also have a USGI poncho liner which I may lay on top or underneath it inside the hammock bed.

Total weight: 5 lbs. (not counting pad or poncho liner)
    Comfort value: immeasurable!

It also fits very nicely into one of my Kifaru longpockets.

Welcome to the forum from Minnesota. I have a set of atlas straps. They work great but are heavy. Lighter options out there if you choose. I like Dutch buckles but that is personal choice.

Welcome to the forums! Nice setup. My husband and I just picked up a barely used TX-250 and can't wait to try it out.
