Walmart doesn't always stock silnylon. I haven't seen any since they started bringing back the fabric departments. The stuff I did buy was perfectly fine and was a bargain at $1 a yard. I would usually buy all I could find.

I just called Noah Lamports and they have a buch of different color sil 2nds for 3$ a yard. Just ordered 10 yards for a winter tarp project. Very helpful guy who answered the phone.

Talk to Roger Small at Noah Lamport

I ordered 32 yards of dark green silnylon from Noah Lamport earlier this week. A friend and I are each making two black cat tarps. As others have said in the thread, Roger Small at NL is the guy to talk to. He couldn't be nicer.

I asked about available "dark earth tone" colors, and he said there are "thousands of yards" of dark green, black and gray silnylon seconds at $3 a yard. The dark green is 62" wide. When I told him how much I wanted, he looked for a bolt with about that much on it, unrolled it to make sure it was at least 32 yards and then told me he would send me the whole bolt for the cost of 32 yards - no cutting fee. I'm not sure how much extra I'll get but I will let you know when it arrives.

He didn't know the cost of shipping but estimated it at $20-$25 since he was pretty sure it would have to be shipped on the roll given the quantity. I checked today and my credit card was charged $124.63, which I assume breaks down to:

    32 yards x $3 per yard = $96
    tax and shipping = $28.63

This will be enough to make four 12 foot long cat tarps, which will equate to $31 of silnylon per tarp. Not bad at all!

There silnylon seconds are not listed on the website. They are 1.3 oz treated.

Thanks. Just what I needed to know. I'll give them a call. Sounds like $3 per yard + $5 cut fee + shipping. Need to decide whether it makes more since to get it from DIY Gear Supply since gonna need to pay shipping there for some stuff anyway.

Oware has black and brown seconds for sale at $2.50 a yard, 10 yard minimum order. Free shipping. The streaks are excess silicon and don't impact the fabrics performance.

Thanks for that deal. Just ordered 16 yards of their brown. Only problem I see with the streaks for outdoor work is they may be indistinguishable from the bird poop. Should make good tarp doors and UQ covers, etc. I'll update when it comes in.
