That primaLoft down blend does look interesting. Wonder how how it compares to straight down? How much to use?

straight down is better by far...and more $$$. primaloft seems to clump a little and gather a little. but you can fix that by sorta fluffing it. this stuff does not perform when wet fyi.

Back in Nov. I found that Target had queen down pillows 850fill on sale for 14.99.
I used one and a little more than half. It made a very nice under quilt 3/4 length.

BAH!! that is a good deal, if i could find a good deal i'd use down on my next project. alas the amount of down that i need would cost way too much. I'll keep my eyes open, good catch!

It takes time, but search ebay for "my luxe down -alternative" the 'minus alternative' weeds out everything that has 'alternative' in the title. I've seen 32 oz. of down sell for $85 or so (rare but happens). The only catch is that it comes in pillows or comforters that you will have to cut open and harvest.

I've done the My Luxe thing on Ebay. I ended up with something like 140 oz for under $2.50/oz shipped. I think some of the estimates for amount of down in some of the products is slightly high, but still if the price is right why not.
