    Like I said. I'd be happy to bring my tired old fat man self and hike with him at the tail end of the group so he's not embarrassed.

    You know, like I did for Caveman that day at Fairfield.

    When you get as old and decrepit as I am, its tough to find a place where you're useful. I grab every one I can.

    Big Bacon: I am still going to Oklahoma. What time are you going to be at the Refuge Headquarters on friday? I am planning to be there about 1030. It takes about 3 1/2 hours from Benbrook to there.

    Space Weaseal: I don't hike that fast. It is just a moderate pace. Good luck on the LST. I hiked it in early February and the weather was nice.

    I won't be able to be there until much later. I have a head shrink appointment for the VA. AT 11:00 am I figured about hour to hour 1\2 to make sure I'm still crazy !?! Than I'm off to the refuge. I'm hoping to get to the gift shop before they close but I don't think I will. It is a three hour drive from here to there. When the time gets closer we might have to exchange numbers so I can call to see where your hiding. Stupid Headshrinkers

    Bacon;

    Are you trying to make it to the gift shop before they close so you can buy something?

    I hope so, because the gift shop is not Park HQ. Park HQ is on Indiahoma Road, not that far from the Sunset Pond trailhead, way at the western edge of the Refuge. You might want to arrange a time and place. There's no cell reception out there. No cell towers on Ft. Sill b/c of the range, and none in the Refuge itself.

    When I worked out there on the refuge I did have about two to three bars of service. Ya I know the visitors center is not the head shed. But its a goal I have just to be there before it closes. I did some work on the houses for the rangers right behind the head shed, and also had to change oil on a lot of their trucks. They just loved having free army labor :-). Really I just want to pick up the gift shop map before they close. I guess just to put in my scrap book.
