That sounds right up my ally! I stayed at a campsite on Perdido Bay last summer for a few nights and it was amazing. I also have a buddy that is stationed down there in flight school so it'd give me a chance to pay a visit.
Let me know when you think you'd want to do it, I'll be graduating May 15th weekend so anything before or after that would probably work.

keep posting info on this, like dates, June (probably last weekend) ??
3 days (Fri, Sat, Sun) ???
Would this be a set up camp and stay in one spot while doing the swiming, canoe ??
Are there trails to hike??
And an area nearby so I can figure out where this is and how far I'd have to drive.
Thanks
the site is the same one i used almost 2yrs ago ..it is located in south centeral alabama near a place called red level..find andalusia and look up and left u will see it on a map..the site has a large creek (rock bottom)...and is part of 880 acres owned by my friend..we can canoe..45min, 1 1/2 hr or a 6 hr depending how far up we put in..as to hiking near by is a national forest with hiking trails..also the great eastern trail runs fairly close so a day trip is option...
i see this as a get together of hanggers to talk shop and show off our gear ...if u doa search for my early posts u will find all the info i posted about this site back than..its a great place with lots of trees....the land owner lives at the top of the hill so our gear will be safe there to go hike canoe ect..we use this site many times a year for campouts..so its a safe secure site..we are 15 miles from andalusia the only major town for miles so light and noise pollution will be at a min..and for those who want to bushwhack..a 7 acre island site is right next to the main camp area so u can hack your self a site by the creek in total isolation......any question u have please ask i am more than willing to help..safe journeys
As a charter member of Blackie's Hangers Anonymous, I can say it was a fun get-together! Soaking in the creek sure does feel great.
Don't know if I can make it yet, but would like to.
I would be interested. Born and raised in Red Level. Is the area on Pigeon Creek by an chance? Or Sepulga River?
pigeon creek it is..i talked to the land owner and a date of june 26/27/28 is good for him so that is the weekend we are shooting for...i figure we can handle up to 75 hanggers..if more are comming we can clear out sites on the island...safe journeys
I'll be a last minute yes or no depending on work. I'm leaving for a week to join Cannibal the following week. How about a little earlier in the month?
It's nice to have a hangout within a 3 hour drive of New Orleans.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
