    Keeping feet warm

I made a reflectix foot box for inside my too quilt. About a 14" diameter price with another piece taped to one end. My quilt just has the drawstring at the foot box and I feel a breeze coming in from it. The one end is not completely sealed so it should still vent a little.

I also use it for support in my GG Gorilla and use as a sit pad.

When I first had cold feet, I insulated the heck out of my feet to no avail. Later I figured out that my Legs were getting cold, leading to cold feet. I find my jacket under my legs, and some insulation in my footbox makes a huge difference, no socks, warm feet. . .

Keep in mind that I am not a cold-weather hanger...

I made a pair of insulated (double layer 2.5 Climashield) slippers with a felt inner layer and ripstop outer layer. They are toasty warm and feel nice against bare skin. Last weekend at the Yates Place hang I had to go barefoot around 4 am because my feet were getting too warm at 40° outside with no underfoot insulation.

The pattern I used can be found here.

I made a pair of down boots out of ripstop but for the sole. I made that out of Cordura. I would not want to hike in them but it's tough enough for a quick night trip to the friendly tree.

    What are flame throwers

You won get dirty feet at night if you get a collapsible water bottle with carabiner at Walmart for two bucks. Hang it from the ridge line. Then if you hear nature call, remove lid from collapsible bottle, fill, close lid, rehang from ridge line and empty in am.

Be sure not to drink from this bottle in am recycled beverages taste different

These are loose, cheap fleece house slippers from wally world. I used them with just a pair of wool socks for the first time Friday night when it got down to 32 and my feet were almost too warm.

I can't believe I didn't think of this last winter when my feet were perpetually cold.

I do this often, did it this weekend as a matter of fact. Works well and is a place to hang the jacket at night.
