Hello and welcome! I do DIY not so much for the price savings (it doesn't always exist), but for the fact that I love to tinker and tweak and experiment. That's not always easy to do with something off-the-shelf.

I was initially drawn into hammocking because I COULD make the gear myself, and there is great satisfaction in that.

Just tried to pack my gear no water,1day food,no TQ or clothes 18-19 pounds how do you stay under 25lbs and stay warm. And hello Madison ms

Study the forum on UQs and TQs, Socks ect and how to use them. Also attend a group hand where you will be able to see a varity of setups and ask questions of the users as to waht works, what does not ect ect.how do you stay under 25lbs and stay warm
