    Hello all new to hanging starting to figure out why so many do the diy it's not cheap for the new guy

    Hello and welcome! I do DIY not so much for the price savings (it doesn't always exist), but for the fact that I love to tinker and tweak and experiment. That's not always easy to do with something off-the-shelf.

    I was initially drawn into hammocking because I COULD make the gear myself, and there is great satisfaction in that.

    Just tried to pack my gear no water,1day food,no TQ or clothes 18-19 pounds how do you stay under 25lbs and stay warm. And hello Madison ms

    welcome to the madness.

    how do you stay under 25lbs and stay warm
    Study the forum on UQs and TQs, Socks ect and how to use them. Also attend a group hand where you will be able to see a varity of setups and ask questions of the users as to waht works, what does not ect ect.
    I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
