6yds of 1.9 DWR calendared 1 side -now what?

Ok, so the adventure continues, from tablecloth to diy ripstop and now learning about fabrics types and "breathability".

My goal was is double layer comfy hammock that breathes. At least that's one of the goals.

Recently picked up some 1.9oz nylon ripstop DWR calendared on one side fabric from Simply Light Designs. (Super fast shipping btw)

This 1.9oz is stout, seems like quality stuff upon inspection. Now here's he concern, that calendaring really cuts down on the breathability. The old blow through the fabric test was a challenge. Much more difficult than I anticipated.

So now I'm on the fence about using it for a hammock, thinking maybe instead a sock?

Basic questions (assuming nylon ripstop);
For a comfy breathable hammock, DWR y/n?
For a comfy breathable hammock, calendared y/n?

I may just try it as a hammock anyway but I think I've been spoiled by 1.1oz and 1.7oz unfinished ripstop that was pretty nice from some of my cottage hammocks.

And yes, other fabrics, parachute et al are in the future, just learning this stuff one step at a time.

Some of the kids want to try winter camping and so I am going to make a handful of double layer hammocks, underquilts and UQP's to add to the 20+ tablecloth gifts out there.

I know I rambled here and have done bunches of searches to gain some insight, just feeling it out one more time before putting needle and thread to work.

It's a personal thing, but my preference for hammocks is a pure finish fabric with no treatments.

A calendared DWR ripstop would make good UQP's.

Yeah I'm going to order some pure finish stuff and use this for UQP or sock.

The breathability isn't as bad as I first thought, compared it to a 1/2 dozen other fabrics and it was similar. Had to get down to 1.1 pure to see a big difference.

Now to check out sock patterns and commence to thread inject.
