    Incubator length - body length?

For those who own an Incubator: how tall are you and which Incubator length did you go for? If the difference is 8" or less - is it still comfortable and easy to use?

I own an Incubator from 2010, which, according to the HG specs, is 77" long. I'm only 5'4" / 65" and I assume (but don't know for sure) that this length is overkill. I'm planning to upgrade to the current Incubator model and need to decide if the 73" model will be sufficient. I would believe so, but want to make sure before spending money

I'm about 5'8" and mine is 72" when it's stretched out flat, (it's a phincubator) it is plenty long enough for me. It goes from just above my head to just below my feet. I think you will be just fine with the 73" length.

Just tested my new 0-degree Incubator this past weekend. I am about 6 feet tall, got the "Standard" which is 78" and it was just fine! Temp got down to 20F and I was toasty warm. I think you will be A-OK with the "Short" at 73"

Interesting <For Me> was that I snugged it up really tight without losing any noticeable insulation loss; i.e., I was worried about compressing the down underneath. Per Knotty (frequent contributor here on HF):

"That's the beauty of a differential cut UQ, you can pull it tight. Less guess work."

Stormcrow makes a fine product and is great to deal with!

I never drink water. I'm afraid it will become habit-forming.

At 5'4" you could almost get away with a 52" pheonix. Would cover from your feet to your shoulders. A short incubator would definatley be long enough.

If you are a side sleeper with your legs slightly bent I would sure consider the Phoenix.
If not, I'd go with the shortest model they offer for your length.

I bought one of the first Incubator with the leg shelf and mine is too long for me at 5'9"

I was just pondering the same question (I'm 5'5"). I'm sure I'd fit in the short version on my own, but sometimes I like to stuff the next morning's change of clothes and a water bottle down by my feet so they're warm and unfrozen in the morning, and I'm not really sure how much space that adds.

Thanks a lot! Looks like I will be ordering the short version. Although the weight would be tempting, I'm not sure that a long Phoenix would be sufficient for me. I'm an extremely cold sleeper

I am 5'6" and use a leighlo 66" and it's fine. I just purchased a 0* incubator short. I think it's 72". I haven't used it yet but I have no doubt it will be great. The leighlo 66" does not cover my head, just up to shoulders but I use a down pillow so it doesn't matter to me. I am toasty warm and comfortable in it. I think I will have perfect coverage with the short incubator. And with the shorter length, I traded 2 oz in length for 2 oz over stuffing.

At 69", I am tempted to try the short if I ever get a 0° Incubator. But my other standard length Incubators work so well I'll probably just stick with that to be safe.
