Thank guys, Im a fan of the color and the great support these hammock forum members give us.
As requested, Lake Blanche, Big Cottonwood, still my favorite place to hike. I usually camp down near the smaller but often not visited Lake Lillian.

Beautiful!
Very nice! Beautiful spit you got there. Have the same setup, and it's almost like the incubator is made for the XLC. Mine never shifted out from under me at any point.
Thank you for posting these pics spool. I really have to get back there sometime. Out of all of SLC, big cottonwood is still my favorite area. I spent a lot of time exploring that canyon. Even felt an avalanche on a snow shoe trip once; that same trip also saw some moose up close and personal. Good times, and thanks again for the reminiscent memories. If I make it out to that side of the world in the next few years, I'll drop you a line and maybe schedule a hang somewhere near there. Take care and see you around.

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.
Great pics of the XLC setup. Am wondering, though, why you were using the mosquito net instead of the top-cover? It looks cold -- which is what the top-cover is made for!
I like mesh, even if it is cold. I like to be able to look around and see things. I also get a bit claustrophobic. I'm thinking about replacing my Hennessy classic with a BB for that reason. I've heard they're much roomier. I'm 6'2" and the classic is tiny.
Whoooo Buddy….I would never want to block that view with a top-cover)))))
Awesome, yes I said awesome.

It works great down to about 40 to give you a bit of an edge, but in below freezing temps which I seen, your breath will build up on the top cover then shower you will frost wetting your top quilt and lessening its thermal rating. This explains why in below freezing temps, most sleep with something over/ in front of their mouth to cut back on moisture build up on the top quilt. Even with just the netting I had frost build up inside. I am currently building something like what shug uses, polar fleece type of a bib supported by shockcord to the ridgeline.
Thanks Shug, your videos and wisdom are what got me into winter hammocking, I was a ground pounder prior, now a converted hanger elitist. Thank you.
Anytime and look me up, I do travel for work often, but I always try to take time to get outdoors.
beautiful country! Thanks for posting
