I got mine a few days ago. They work great. I am heading out Friday morning for four days of hiking and they will get used.

Now if I could just find a way to attach the Whoopie Sling Suspension to them.

    Sorry, I just had to.

By the way, those clips look pretty awesome. Hopefully they will not become collector's items and there will be another run!
    Next to nothing.

You know, I don't even have a scale capable of weighing these things. You lightweights, er... I mean UL-ers just worry too much about such things. If it fits in my pack, I can carry it. That doesn't mean I should, but probably means I will. Maybe you need to do a little upper body work, and build up your back and those shoulders, SC.

I hope to sew these in to my BB webbing tonight, if time allows. Still haven't packed away from the weekend, and I have a couple of topcovers to sew sometime this week, and I may need to run up North this weekend. Time just keeps getting shorter.

I am going to attach them to the tree straps from Warbonnet, then attach the whoopie sling via marlin spike to the triangle on the BB. Works pretty well, that is one of the rigs I used this weekend at Shawnee.

I wouldn't do it but you could use them on teh hugger and then have a toggle onthe end of the hugger. I figure that as long as I don't have to undo the strap from a buckle or ring it can just be passed through the loop with no clip. Troll you are a hero of mine and I really hope they work well for your hike.

I used my Dutch Clips last night in conjunction with my Whoopie Sling and they work like a charm! Excellent little piece of gear!

If I wanted to paint these, would I be better off sanding them a little to get the paint to stick better? I'd probably just use regular spray paint, so should I heat them up first like Fin did? Any ideas on this?

I just checked out the whoopie sling....I know late to that one...
Do y'all just attach the sling to the hammock and the on the other end to the hugger?
Then just use the clip to attach to tree, then adjust whoopie sling and done.
    That's pretty sweet.....

Goto an autoparts store and look for adhesion promoter. its in a can. A appliance paint will be hard and durable.
