We have a place up in the mountains with a creek running through the property, I bought my son a panning kit and he really enjoys sitting there looking. He hasn't found anything, but if he's happy, I'm happy. I will most definitely be doing some panning if I make it. So far, it looks like I'll be able to come out and hang.

I am sure me and my son would give it a go.

I've added it to my calendar, now to get time off work, kitchen pass from the boss, and figure out what to bring for the group to enjoy.

Looks like everything is a go. Just need to see what I need to bring.

    Hey Jeremy,

Where do we stand on arrangements, food and stuff?

We saw a guy panning on Saturday on Wood Run Creek just north of the 24/27 trailhead. Don't know if they find much of anything doing this.

I think we are going to do the Saturday breakfast meal instead of dinner. I think we bring enough water, so the only thing we need to make a decision on if fire wood. If we are going to make arrangements for a delivery we need to collect some money for that. If someone else wants to organize a raffle i would support that.

I vote for collecting money ahead. Raffles are fun but I think preparations are already under way for one at the Smoked Butt Hang - only a few weeks after this one. Our vendors are generous but two that close together in NC might be a lot to ask.

I would be delighted to donate ahead - we just need someone nearby to handle it. I do intend to come on Thursday but don't know if I can protect a pile of firewood all by myself.

I am contemplating bringing eggs and fixins to make omelets. Just don't have a very big griddle.

Who is the one that lives near there? I cant remember but is it the same one you hiked with last week? I believe he said he could drop firewood off.
I have a plug in griddle and I could run an extention cord from my mini van it has an outlet. I am thinking of making a monkey bread cinnamon dutch oven thingy, and some type of meat/s.
