hi friends,
so i am finally off the ground and swinging in a claytor expedition! woohoo...
i figured out the tarp situation and will be going w/ an OES tarp, based upon the reviews from you guys
i have NOT figured out what to do w/ the support system. i keep reading that my stock claytor webbing will leak water into my tent, and i should go w/ some sort of ring system. so my thoughts and questions on that. i'm not 100% sure i really understand the ring buckle system, but here's how i envision it:
-cord goes through hammock and attaches to rings...
-webbing goes around tree and attaches to rings...
-drip line at rings keeps water from running into the hammock
so here's my questions
1. if i just get 4 rings and keep my stock claytor webbing for the part that goes from the tree to the ring will that be suffice? i don't understand why i wouldn't reuse the webbing. i probably would shorten the stock webbing if this is the case, b/c i won't need the footage that normally is where the cord will be...
2. for the part that goes through the hammock and attaches to the rings, should i just get some climbing cord? what sort of break strength/test will i need? i weigh 160lbs...
