Glad to see it went well. My first hang was in 16 degree weather, no wind with an ENO double and ENO profly...figured I was only a quick 1 mile hike from the car if things didn't go right. My bag had a zipper failure when I went to use it, so I spent the night stupidly gripping it closed instead of wrapping up in it like a quilt. nonetheless, I slept ok. Put hand warmers in my wool socks to ward off frostbite and was just as comfortable, if not more so than my ground dwelling friends. If you hang much, you'll be upgrading your fly I suspect.

I suspect the same thing, but I will likely swap fly's around depending the weather... (plus my kids will eventually start running off with my gear... ask me who has "my" new pillow and sleeping bag.... )

One more thought came round the bend,

In this case I may have been better off to soft pitch the tarp high first to set a working space to get my nest up, then move it down for sleeping.

it may have allowed me some more refinements in the details of my hammock hang and lay...
