    Rain please rain !!

Ever since I started sleeping out in my back yard in my hammock I can't wait for a good night time rain. I never thought I'd hope for rain while sleeping outside. I slept outside twice this week down to around 25* or a little below,"toasty". Last night forecast a low of 44* with rain,"Perfect !!!" . It was a great sleep, that temperature is just right for me but no rain, unless I slept through it ,just a few sprinkles. Is being disappointed that it doesn't rain while sleeping outside natural for a hammock camper ? Or maybe I should seek some type of counseling.

I love the rain. I have never slept in a Hammock in the rain though. Sounds like a peaceful nights sleep.

If it rains when I'm in my hammock, I sleep hard enough to slobber on myself… Sorry for the visual.

The only counciling you need is right here on Hammockforums.net.

Rain is a friend to the sleeping experience in a hammock. I also love it in a tropical storm.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I just rigged my hammock for the night to test something. Instead of the usual rain I normally get this time of year I have a clear night and frost. Hoping I'll sleep nicely outside tonight anyways.

If you want rain in a hammock just make it to a group hang, seems like it nearly always rains at least one night at them.

Of course it could just be me, as it always rains when I'm out there.

We don't get much if any rain during our Fall/Winter/Spring season here in Florida so I hadn't experienced it either. Then we spent the summer in Maine! I was hanging in my hammock outside since I couldn't hang it in the RV. The first month there it rained almost daily. I was sure glad to have swapped the old DIY tarp out for the WL Tadpole. Then came the storm of the summer! Lightening must have hit the towers atop Mt. Waldo half a dozen times and the heaviest rain I had ever experienced in Maine. Almost like one of our central Florida thunderstorms. Unfortunately around 9 PM the rain and breeze stopped, the humidity went to 100% and it was at least 75 F. One of only 2 nights in 2 1/2 months that I had to abandon the hammock for the AC. Watching the rain collect on the tarp and run off in rivulets is one of my favorite hammock pastimes.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
