    SC>PSH>SAVE THE CAMPGROUND HANG>Nov. 15-17>13

Just got home from the hang. For whatever reason not too many came out this weekend, but for those who did, they discovered a diamond in the rough. This place is about ideal for our purposes, no close neighbors, traffic noise, bright lights etc. There are enough places to hang a bus load of sleepy people and not crowd anyone.
Callie did yoman service as host for the hang, and Blind Squirrel did a ton as well. They had 4 kayaks and all who wanted to had a tour on the lake.
Believe it or not, but food items left on the table over night remained untouched the next morning, not saying who did the cooking.
About the only wildlife sign was deer tracks along the edge of the lake.
We were all packed up and ready to roll out around 10:00 after watering out the remains of the fire. I still cannot figure just how Callie knew exactly how much fire wood to bring, but it came out exact.
I am ready to go there again, perhaps in the early spring.

Thank you all for an awesome weekend. We thought we may get wet, but the weather was great. We had a five minute shower friday night and that was about it. We had the entire campground to ourselves, and it was wonderful. We ate some great food, kayaked, played cornhole, walked around and checked out the sites and discussed possiblities. Old4hats honored us with dutch oven biscuits and peach cobbler. This campground is a hangers heaven, and I hope to plan another hang in the near future so more folks can attend and see for themselves. We hope to get a couple other groups involved to help, like the Boy Scouts and a Geo Cache group. I plan to talk to McCormick County to see if they will take over the campgound and we can help to maintain it.
I sure hope and pray we can save this campground and make it a site for plenty of future hangs.

Old4Hats I hope you can post some pics.

Sounds like you all had a great time. Don't need a big crowd to do that. Will try to make the next one.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
