Fronky's probably making his video right now of the overnight trip we just did yesterday and today. I only took a few photos so I thought I'd wet your appetite for the video.
Our view from camp this morning at about 6:15
One of the "Black Buttes" above Glacier Lake in the morning sun.
A view toward the "Sierra Buttes" just north of the town of Downiville. We had really clear weather this morning.
Most of the trail was dry. But we did have sections of hard, icy snow.
It was actually warmer than we had expected. The wind came up yesterday afternoon and temperature dropped to 26 degrees. But then it calmed down and it actually warmed up to 30 for most of the night. My D.I.Y. top and bottom quilts, hammock and tarp handled those temperatures nicely.
Thunder did great. He was a bit stiff last night and he was limping just a bit after we got home. Now he' laying down in the sun warming up and taking a nap.
It was really a nice late fall/not quite winter trip.
